Any Sweetwater fabrics fans out there? I have enjoyed the prints by these talented designers for many years. They are pretty much tops at classics like checks, dots, retro florals and themed illustrations. The Indigo quilt is a perfect match for a pack of 10″ Sweetwater prints I’ve had for a long time in my stash…and my wonderful quilt fairy-helper (my Mom) was a great sport to sew up this sample for me.
This quilt pattern is perfect for pre-cuts like 10″ squares. I admit it’s a favorite because it’s a really dynamic design and looks great in a variety of fabric styles (see my other two versions, here). The large block centers really let favorite fabrics show off, and the setting pieces bring the opportunity to play with more (or fewer) colors and variety to emphasize secondary shapes.
This little quilt was pieced with the Classic Curves Ruler and the pattern is available, Here. The all-over floral quilting was done by Darby Myers of Quilted Squid and it’s finished with Hobbs wool batting. I’m kind of hooked on the wool batting at the moment. I do my piecing with Aurifil thread (-:
Can you believe how great these two quilts made with the Indigo pattern look? I can’t decide which I like more because they are both so pretty and so different. If you like the blue and white version, you can get a kit to make one, Here.
This month, I am dedicating myself to (mostly) working on finishing projects. If you would like to join in and clear those creative to-do’s so that you can start on some fresh new things, read more about my challenge, Here.
I hope these new versions of the Indigo quilt make you feel inspired! Happy Sewing!
