Have you seen the new fabric collection from Art Gallery Fabrics designed by Pat Bravo?! For each new collection, AGF releases a beautiful look book of inspiring projects featuring the fabrics. These look books are seriously amazing…if you are interested in design and photography, you will enjoy seeing the AGF team’s gorgeous styling and creativity in each of these unique inspiration guides. This past spring, I had the opportunity to sew something for the look book with these gorgeous Indie Boheme prints. I made a baby size quilt using my Twirling Fans pattern.
The Indie Boheme fabrics are the latest example of Pat’s unique talent for mixing and matching a collection of prints and colors to create a useable group of fabrics that are a joy to create with. She has been doing a series of “indie” collections, all with a bohemian vibe. I particularly like the hot pink and hits of yellow throughout this collection.
When I saw the fabrics, I immediately wanted to make a Twirling Fans quilt. I’m not sure why, but I think the boho style is a perfect match for this quilt.
I just love scrappy borders, don’t you? I couldn’t resist adding the pieced border on this, it seemed so fitting with the fabrics. There is even a couple prints in the collection that resemble patchwork that inspired this border.
I quilted this one with Aurifil thread 50 wt. in off-white as well as a bright variegated Aurifil that blends and adds a bit of spice to the piecing. There is Hobb’s Heirloom batting inside, which I like for its lightweight feel. This is the baby size included in the Twirling Fans pattern, available Here.
