How did June go by so fast?! How did we do on our challenge to finish up quilts-in-progress this month? Last week I told you about finishing one on my list. Today I have another to mark off my list! While it’s not a complete finish, one of my goals this month was to complete the top of my Quilt Along Pixie Medallion quilt and get it ready for quilting.
I am happy to report that the top is finished and the backing is sewn up! I’ve arrange to send it to Barbie of The Quilting Mill for custom quilting…so excited to see this one all finished up. The challenge goal really helped give the push needed to get this one done up. It was *so* close to being done when we wrapped up the quilt along in April. All it needed was those final strip borders around the whole thing. The problem was that I needed to buy that striped fabric and that pause was just enough to make the project stall out. Do you ever do that? all gung ho on something, and a tiny delay just throws you all off.
If you like the fabrics I used here and want to get a similar look, check out the new CMYK fabric bundle, just listed in the shop.

The great news is it’s over the hump and off to be quilted! How about you? It has been fun seeing your projects on Instagram and Facebook (check #colorgirlchallenge). And, as promised, I have another fun giveaway to wrap up this big month of finishes!
One lucky participant will win a Tula Pink Dots and Stripes bundle and any Color Girl pattern of choice from the shop. Here’s what you have to do to enter:
- sign up to get Color Girl email (if you’re already do, great! no need register again) <Click Here to sign up>
- post your projects finished during June, 2018 on the Color Girl Facebook page (or your own personal page) with #colorgirlchallenge in the caption <OR>
- post your project finished during June 2018 on Instagram with #colorgirlchallenge and @colorgirlquilts in your caption.
Make sure all posts are “Public” so they show up in the tag and I can come see what you’ve made. Private accounts/posts will not be entered in the giveaway.
I will choose the winner on June 30 and announce on all Color Girl media.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this little challenge as much as I have. It has felt great to wrap up some of those quilts on the loose.
