This month Sharon Holland is having a little inspiration tour for her new fabric collection, Bountiful, with Art Gallery Fabrics. She sent me some of the prints to play with and join her group of makers.
I decide to make a mini quilt from my Pixie Medallion pattern. I made just the center star and first border. It makes a beautiful little wall hanging or baby size quilt.
If you follow Sharon, you know her fabrics are a consistent mix of soft color and artistic prints. Many of the prints feature motifs Sharon draws. For Bountiful, there is a landscape print with delicate painted barn scenes, painterly florals and rustic textural prints. Sharon’s color, value and design sense make her collections so useable in quilts and many of her past collections coordinate beautifully with Bountiful.
For my little Pixie, I used several prints from her previous Tapestry and Gossamer collections. I do all of my piecing with Aurifil thread. My quilt was quilted by Darby Myers of Quilted Squid with Hobbs batting. I love the flowing floral quilting pattern…a perfect compliment to such geometric piecing and the soft color palette.
It’s finally looking like spring in Central Ohio. It’s a true joke that we can have all four seasons in a given week at any time of year…but it’s so cheerful to see the flowers on the trees and bright yellow daffodils in yards around the neighborhood.
I hope you feel inspired by nature’s color and awakening to create! Look for Sharon’s Bountiful fabrics at your favorite shop. Follow the tour for more: yesterday Quilt Story made two beautiful bags with the canvas print from Bountiful. Next up is Sylvia of A Stranger View.

I love your quilt: It’s fun to see the center of the star in the lightest shade and the outer parts in the darkest. It gives it a totally different look: I really like it! Hugs, H
Beautiful Sharon! This quilt looks so bright a cheerful! Great job selecting the prints and color palette.
