It is my turn to show off Katarina Roccella’s latest fabric collection for Art Gallery Fabrics and I am so excited to share my quilt! I have loved every collection Katarina has designed, but I really think AvantGarde is my favorite yet. The colors are absolutely delightful: bright and deep jewel tones mixed with black and white. The prints and colors also mix well with her previous collections, especially Imprint (2015) and Indelible (2014).
For my project with the fabric, I wanted to play off the geometric shapes and use large pieces to really show off the prints. I decided to go with hexagons…and couldn’t be more happy with how this turned out!
At this point, I only have the top completed, but I am hoping to get it basted in the next day or so and set to quilting because I cannot wait to get it finished. This has been one of those quilts that I have enjoyed every step of the way…the fabric (thanks, Katarina!) and design, sewing, and next on to quilting and finishing. There will be a pattern available for this quilt in the future, too, so stay tuned if you would like to try it yourself.
Katarina is offering to give away a bundle of these gorgeous fabrics (I already want more!), so visit her blog to enter: Click Here. Also be sure and check out all the other projects made with AvantGarde, you are sure to be as inspired as I am by these beautiful fabrics. The links to all the blogs are also listed on Katarina’s site.
