Pull out your scrap bags and let’s sew our hearts out! Today is the official introduction of the first in my Stash, Scraps, and Pre-Cuts pattern series: Blessed Heart.
This little quilt is an easy make and looks adorable in red theme for Valentines’ Day or a rainbow of colorful scraps. The best part is, I am releasing this pattern as a four week sew along – that’s right, you can get the pattern free when you sign up to receive email from me. Each week on Monday you’ll get a step to make your Blessed Heart quilt.
If you’ve been around for a little while, you will have noticed I’ve been talking a lot about scraps and stash – encouraging you to turn those favorite fabrics into favorite finished quilts. Now is your chance to get started by joining this mini, low pressure sew along.
You DO have to sign up to receive the sew along emails, even if you already get email from me. This series is in addition to the regular CGQ emails you already receive.

+ Starting next Monday, check your inbox for the first step. Each week for four weeks (always Monday) you’ll receive the next piece. By the end, hopefully we can all share our finished quilts and notice our scrap baskets are a little bit lighter.
The Blessed Heart pattern is designed and written specifically for scraps and/or pre-cut fabric packs. You can make it with a coordinated pre-cut collection from your favorite designer, leftovers from another project, random scraps or pieces from your stash. It’s your choice! You’ll get the fabric requirements, measurements, and details in your first email.

I love hearts as my birthday is a few days from Valentine’s Day and I’m looking forward to making this sweet block. I’m just sad that it will be after Valentine’s Day when it’s finished.
This pattern looks to be a wonderful way to use up lots of scraps. I’ve made several scrap quilts that were very randomly pieced. This looks a bit more controlled, which will be a nice change. Thanks for this opportunity to learn a new pattern.
