Wow, are we really just a week away from Christmas 2023 and two weeks away from starting a new year?
2023 has been a big year here at Color Girl Quilts with the release of the new Classic Curves Plus ruler and exciting redesign of the original CCRuler and new patterns. While that feels like a big accomplishment because A LOT goes into the process of designing, sourcing, and producing a product for a small business person like me – I feel like the bigger deal for me this year was feeling like I’m ‘back’ to my love of quilting and it feels SO GOOD.
I quietly took a couple years off, not doing a lot of social media and almost no blogging, and putting little effort into this little business. I got pretty burned out and discouraged, and – when added to other challenges – my creative energy kinda tanked. So, I am really thankful that 2023 felt like a fresh start and I’ve had a resurgence of my old excitement for quilting. The best part is sharing all that with you all!
Thank you to all who participated in the first virtual/zoom classes I’ve offered. They were a total blast and based on your enthusiasm, we will be doing many more in 2024. I’ve scheduled a new session for Sunbeam in January and added a Metro quilt class in February. I’m currently working on the videos and sample for an exciting one featuring full set-in circle piecing, so watch for that!

There’s still time to get quilty gifts in time for Christmas – I’ve added lots of new fabric bundles this month, cut fabric is only $9/yard, and rulers are something you can use over and over to make so many quilts!
