Come Sew With Me in September!

Curved Piecing with Color Girl Quilts, Sharon McConnell

One of my favorite things about quilting is sharing my passion for it with others. That is the only reason I write patterns and share my thoughts here on this blog. I don’t always know that anybody is reading, but every once in a while I get an amazing email or comment from someone that they have enjoyed a quilt I have shared or an idea or tutorial. That totally makes my day!

I have taught a few classes at my local quilt shop and I enjoy it so much every time. This coming September 8-9, I am leading a two day workshop at Lakeside resort in northern Ohio. I could not be more excited to spend two days sewing with new friends. If you have never been to a quilting retreat, you simply must try to go if you find one close to your home. It is the most fun you can have!

Lakeside, located near Lake Erie, is a center for community education and activities. They have a full calendar of family and community events and offer workshops on a variety of topics. Last year, they had their first quilting retreat weekend in September, and I am the leader of the second one this year. The title of my program is “Classic Curved Quilts” and, as you can guess, we will be focusing on curved piecing. The patterns for the weekend are my Eclipse and Whimsy Garden, so I will be showing how to do all the techniques needed for those two quilts. That means you’ll get much more than curved piecing!

I’m really looking forward the this fun weekend, and I hope that anyone who lives near enough to join me will consider the trip. Visit this link for more information and registration.

Have a great week! Hope summer is getting off to a good start for everyone in the northern hemisphere (-:

Oh I so wish I can go, but I live too far away! I have such a hard time with curved piecing, that a retreat might be exactly what I need …

Wish I could be there. This is a new block to me and I do like your quilts. Be sure to tell us when you come to FL.

Sharon I have a request for you to visit my quilter @alatimer to see my version of your Wavelength pattern. This is a quilt that I totally loved making and look forward to putting on the binding. It’s way to hot where I live to enjoy it any other way than visually for now. Abby referred to it as a leader ender project which it wasn’t but most certainly could if the quilter so desired.

And oh how I would enjoy attending your workshop.

I love comments! thanks for stopping by.
