Gardenvale fabrics by jen king well for Moda fabrics

It’s a great day for a fabric giveaway! Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the quilting world. If you are a regular reader, I thank you for the kind comments. If you are visiting for the first time from the Sew Mama Sew giveaway day: I am glad you found me and I hope you will come back again soon.

For my giveaway, I have seven prints from the brand new (and much anticipated) range by Jen Kingwell for Moda: Gardenvale. The light piece on the far right in the photo is a fat quarter, the other six are large fat eighths (around 12″ x 21″). A good little bundle to get you started on your next sewing project.

All you must do to earn a chance to win is leave a comment here on this post. Tell me your very favorite type of quilting project, for example: simple, fast patchwork, paper-piecing, curved piecing, applique or other handwork, etc. If you are not a quilter, what would you like to make with this fabric?

Leave an optional second comment (and another chance to win) if you share a post or photo from my website on Facebook or Pinterest.

Eclipse quilt pattern by Color Girl Sharon McConnell

My favorite it curved piecing! I love experimenting with different shapes and layouts that you can get with curved shapes in quilts. Above, Eclipse is my newest quilting pattern and I have just listed it in my shop in print form, so you can get it in print or pdf download. I just finished my first semester back at University (yea!), so I am looking forward to sewing some new curvy quilts during the summer break!

Good Luck, and thanks for stopping by,

Sharon

First comment, not sure that is lucky but here goes. My favourite piecing is blocks with lots of pieces and often small, that’s not to say I don’t enjoy sewing curves, or simple mindless sewing, I just like to sew.

I really enjoy English paper piecing. It’s portable so I can work on it any time, like at lunch or when waiting for my daughter after school. And I love all the geometric angles like hexagons and jewels.

Thanks for offering a giveaway opportunity!

I love everything about quilting. I have two favourites really. Applique is my number one fav. Paper piecing comes in second. I love the sharpness that you get using this method of piecing. I am afraid that curves are my least favourite. I am going better with them though.

Wow! That is a spectacular quilt!! I have been quilting for nearly 30 years off and on, and since learning to use the machine(!) love HSTs and other simple patch works, but I have a pretty good foundation from hand piecing and do like to try more complicated patterns sometimes…a flowering snowball last year, for example. But for me, the joy of starting and completing a project in a timely fashion with gorgeous modern fabrics is something I haven’t tired of yet:). Thank you for a wonderful giveaway!!
