Quilt Block #15 of the six inch super simple sampler quilt series is here, and I will tell you how to make it!
Cutting
from light prints: cut (1) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangle; (2) 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips; (1) 2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ rectangle; (2) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
from yellow: cut (2) 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips; (2) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
from pink: cut (1) 6 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ strip
Sewing
right sides facing, 1/4″ seam, press after each seam
1. Pair each light fabric 1 1/2″ square with a yellow 1 1/2″ square and sew together on one side. Press.
2. Pair each light fabric 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ strip with a yellow 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ strip. Sew together along one long side. Press.
3. Sew the 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ units made in step 1 to opposite sides of the light fabric 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle. Orient pieces as shown above, so that the yellow 1 1/2 square is against the light fabric rectangle. Press.
4. Sew the 4 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ units made in step 2 to opposite sides of the light print 4 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle. Orient the pieces as shown above. Press.
5. Sew the light/yellow strip units to opposite sides of the pink 1 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strip. Press toward the pink strip.
