thanks for tuning in again today for the November Super Simple Sampler. Today I have block number 10, continuing the theme of the month, Squares.
Cutting:
light pink print (block center): (1) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ square; (4) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
dark pink (corners): (4) 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares
from each, light blue, gray, dark blue, yellow: (1) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle; (1) 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangle
Sewing (1/4″ seam allowance, right sides facing):
1. Arrange block center as shown below. Sew the 2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ yellow rectangle to the bottom of the light pink 2 1/2″ square, and the gray 2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ rectangle to the top of the light pink square. Press toward the light pink.
2. Sew the 1 1/2″ light pink squares to both ends of the dark blue and light blue 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles as shown above. Press toward the light pink.
3. Sew the blue/light pink units made in step 2 to the center square unit made in step 1. Press.
4. Sew the dark pink corner squares to both ends of the light and dark blue 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles as shown above. Press toward the blue.
5. Sew the gray 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ rectangle to the top of the center square unit (adjacent to the smaller gray rectangle already sewn). Press toward the gray.
6. Sew the yellow 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ rectangle to the opposite side of the center square (adjacent to the smaller yellow rectangle already sewn). Press toward the yellow.
7. Sew the blue/pink strips to opposite sides of the block as laid out in photo above. Press.
Easy Peasy!
Sharon
