I made a mini quilt! Do not laugh at my childish skills on this one…
This served two purposes: making a father’s day gift for my husband and practicing my (very limited) free-motion quilting skills.

| Ski Utah! tea towel turned Mini Quilt |
My husband has everything and so is a bit difficult to gift for. I always try to come up with something thoughtful and personal when it comes to holidays for him. I found tea towels at a local shop that featured various location themes. I could not believe they had this “ski Utah” towel!
I decided it would be fun to turn this into a pillow or mini quilt or something for Patrick because he loves to ski (especially in Utah) and we have so much history together in Utah. Met, my college graduation, married, first house, first dog, first baby….
I am not good at free motion quilting, but I do like to quilt text, so across the top it says “love to ski Utah” and on both sides there are dates (years) that are significant in our lives together. See the right side, where it says ’03 S & P ? We got married at a Utah ski resort in 2003.
I feel very blessed every day to have such a wonderful family.
My dad is coming to visit us, flying in from Utah this evening, and I am so excited! what a great father’s day.
Hope you all had a great weekend!
Sharon
