I was shocked to wake up this morning to see this scene out my window! Right away, I thought: “forget going to the gym, shoveling counts as exercise, then I can sew!”
So, I took my kids to school, came home and shoveled my driveway (feeling quite pleased with myself the entire time), and then snuggled in for a day indoors. At least until school lets out.
I am not a lover of winter. And I am certainly not thrilled to see snow in November…we usually have until around Christmas before winter gets mean. So, to warm things up, I decided to share some joy this winter wonderland day: I have five fat quarters of Cotton + Steel basics, all in different colors. Four of them (all but the blue) have metallic prints, so that’s in keeping with the sparkly display mother nature is treating us to.
If you fancy these, just leave a comment for me. Just say whatever you want as long as it’s nice (unless it’s about snow, then it doesn’t have to be nice). If you share this post on Facebook or Instagram or Twitter, leave a second comment telling me you did and your handle/tag/name.

Lovely bundle! Great to brighten up the novembergrey here. Keep warm!
I leave for Kona on Thursday! 🙂
Jealous that you have most of a day to sew. I might even be okay with shovelling some snow as a trade off! Enjoy 🙂
I thought the same thing yesterday when I looked out and saw snow….. time to quilt. It is too early for snow. My computer wallpaper in my pic of Paradise Island Cozumel so I can revisit the tropics everyday.
What a beautiful bundle and lovely giveaway, Sharon. I think that shoveling the walk most definitely counts as exercise. Stay warm and cozy! 🙂
Lovely bundle of fabrics! I see Summer in these colours – which here in New Zealand officially begins on the 1st December – would be great to make a Summer quilt with your giveaway!! I must say I do envy you the picture postcard scenes of the snow, I miss this being from the UK originally, but don’t miss the shovelling and cold.
What a pretty bundle of fabric. I always like the first snow because it’s so pretty but then it can just go away and stay away.
Shoveling is certainly a workout!
I live in North Dakota, and I think it’s way too early for us to have snow too. I love some shiny fabrics though. CDahlgren at live dot com
I agree to early for snow. Try and remember the warm days of summer, nice sunny day.
I don’t know how anyone lives in snow. Guess I’m a little spoiled living in Hawaii
Love those fabrics and am very happy to not have snow!
Gorgeous fabrics! I love snuggling inside under a nice warm quilt when it’s cold outside!
Snow sucks… luckiky CCotton and Steel is awesome.
After shoveling that white stuff for an hour tonight…I can’t say I’m totally sold on the winter thing again just yet! Lol I love your choices for this fabric giveaway!!!
It freezing here in Georgia suppose to be in the teens tonight
The colors that you have chosen are very nice
I’m no fan of snow either! Really dreading the winter months. Hopefully will keep busy in between shoveling by quilting and sewing!
Pretty fabric bundle. Thanks for the giveaway!
i hope you stay warm. Love the fabrics, thanks for the chance.
Good luck to all of us that are trying to stay warm. It is in the 20’s right now and will be in the 30’s tomorrow, if I am lucky. Snow has not come yet, but we have ice already. (i’d rather have snow)
I love the sparkle of a bit of metallic.
Lovely fabrics – thanks for the chance to win.
Ugh on the snow. We have some here too, in Iowa, but not as much as you do! We are about to have the coldest night on record since 1891! I’m ready to skip right into April! Even the dog is going crazy since she doesn’t like it outside. I love metallic touches in fabrics..we all need a little spice this time of year.
Love the fabric!! We ha snow too:(
Very pretty bundle. Thanks for the giveaway.
Sharon, I love your “best friend” picture. So serene.
Your Jewel Box quilt is stunning. I’m adding that pattern to my wish list:)
Thanks for sharing the Cotton & Steele basics giveaway. It’s so generous.
How pretty! I live in South Louisiana so I have never seen snow like that. Not even close! LOL. Enjoy!
I love snow. I love that picture you took of the snow and fabric; perfect for evoking the “cuddle up and sew” feeling.
It is 17 here but no snow. I left Chicago to escape the cold and snow and here we are in the South cold. What’s up with that. Even my dogs are cold. Old people aren’t supposed to deal with this. Anyway I’ll be inside for a few days. Love the fabric.
I would like to see the snow just for a bit. Driving in it is another thing. Thank ls for a chance to win the beautiful bundle.
I love the fabric line and love you!
We got about 8″ of snow here in Ohio yesterday too. I have chickens. It was their first glimpse of snow. They weren’t a fan. Thanks for brightening our day by offering lovely fabric for a giveaway.
What a beautiful view! Although I am not a 100% big fan of snow, it does look rather beautiful ! Thank you for the chance (:
Lovely fabrics….i’m not a lover of snow either, that’sounds why we live in Florida. Thanks for the giveaway.
Love these fabrics! Picked up some in this line from Quilting Live! Atlanta Thanks
I hope you got lots of sewing done. I love the snow for the first few days then absolutely hate it! Great giveaway
What a glorious window photo – lovely! I miss snow…
Lovely fabric and hate to say it but snow and yard look wonderful!
Lovely fabrics!! I wonder if we’ll get any snow this year (in Glasgow, Scotland) or will it be the usual dreicht winter. My boys would love snow!!
These basics are so lovely together. I do like snow, but I also like when it waits until December to arrive 🙂
Those are very beautiful fabrics. It is very snowy here, too. It does look beautiful when it glitters in the light.
Hey Sharon, I’m with you. Bah Humbug to snow…lol The fabrics are beautiful. I have the perfect pattern for it…one of yours. Hugs
I hope I don’t need to be nice about the cold , because it has made very disgruntled. I live in Indiana, and it feels like the arctic circle. However it’s supposed to be in the 50’s on Sunday so….WOOHOO!!! HEAT WAVE!!

I too dislike snow and we had it here in Oklahoma!! Love your bundle!!
Yeah not really too happy about the cold coming so early this year. It isn’t even Thanksgiving yet. I do like to see the snow because I’m a skiier. I belong to a women’s ski club and I’m excited to hit the slopes with my friends. Nice choice of fabrics for a giveaway.
Beautiful bundle. I plan on doing a lot of sewing this winter to get me through to spring.
