It is that fun time of year when people all over the world of quilty blogs meet at Sew Mama Sew for giveaways!
I think this is a fun event because I get to find people I’ve never “met” before, and see their inspiring quilts and sewing projects. It also happens to bring new friends to my blog, so that’s fun, too.
I have two giveaways today. The first relates to a recent project here at Fabrics & Flowers, and that is “Quilters’ Book Club”. I just posted the last month (for this year) and am getting ready to start a quilt with the blocks I made.
Read more about Book Club Here.
For one winner in the United States, I have this book, “Blended Quilt Backgrounds”,
This book is full of fun quilts where the emphasis is on both the primary piecing as well as using creative color in the “background”. Here is an example of one of the projects. The quilt is made with only one block, but by varying the color placement, it takes on a whole new look!
If you are visiting from outside the United States, you have a chance to win a pdf copy of the pattern, “Twirling Fans” by Color Girl (which happens to be me!)
You can find my other patterns in my shop on Craftsy.
To enter the drawing: leave a comment here and tell me where in the world you are (so I know which drawing to put you in) and what is your favorite quilting or crafting book.
I will draw a winner on May 16.
Thanks for Visiting, good luck in all the giveaways!
Sharon

HI Sharon,
Thanks for the give away. I live in Canada. My favorite Quilt book? Well, that is a hard question to answer because I have so many favorites. On the top of the list would have to be Karen McTavish’s “WhiteWork.” It is all about wholecloth quilts. Very beautiful stitching indeed.

Hello from Maryland…Good question……My favorite is not a book, but a magazine series. It’s Quiltmakers 100 block series. Vol 9 just came out last week, and I don’t understand the hold they have on me. But knowing that I have 100 blocks to choose from….not that I would ever be able to… I do have one go to book, but it’s not all that portable like the magazines. It’s Jinny Beyer’s Quilter’s Album of Patchwork Patterns. It’s like a small coffee table book, and is dangerous to read in bed when half falling asleep (it’s hardback)!
Oh my. I can’t possibly choose a favorite book, not even for the sake of winning this one. I’m really a book-aholic — you know, one book is too many and a million is too few! Nonetheless, two of my favorite authors (out of many) are Ruth McDowell and Edyta Sitar.
Even though your pattern contest is open to non-USA residents, I must tell you that I really like your Dancing Fans quilt. Am wondering if those triangles are pieced or are prairie points.
I am in Texas, USA and my favorite quilt book is Material Obsession 2. I haven’t made anything from it yet, but I love to flip through it!
