I have posted in the past (here) and (here) about the Open Door Art Studio and wanted to share their current exhibit, No Objections, because the title seems a good one for me right now.
The past week or so has been completely out of control in terms of being so busy. I usually hate it when people talk about being “busy” because it kind of seems lame, but I kind of feel like I am losing my mind.
My busy-ness is a good thing: I have a job, a wonderful pair of kids, I couldn’t be more excited about my quilting and the possibilities there, my wonderful mom is here visiting. It just doesn’t always feel good.
As I face the craziness of life and the frustrations of being over-“busy”, I have to remind myself: “no Objections”. I am blessed in every way possible (except maybe for good hair) and have no room to complain.
I was pretty irritated with myself last night, though, when I “lost” a bag full of crickets I bought for my son’s lizard and frog. Really, that should be a wake-up call to slow down a bit, don’t you think?
I hope it doesn’t seem really selfish to turn a post about fabulous artwork into something about me. Just wanted to share my thoughts for the day. I hope you have enjoyed the little window into this great gallery. For more information, please visit Open Door Art Studio.
have a sloooooow week. and hopefully get some sewing in….(I did buy more crickets today so the pets won’t starve!)

It’s OK to vent here! I remember those days, with one child, buying crickets for the pet–I don’t even remember what kind of pet it was! I hope you get to slow down and breathe this week. Say “hi” to your sweet and talented mom for me.
Hey, I think you are addressing your priorities quite well — vent, so that you don’t explode on those you love, and …… buy more crickets! Hugs to you, my friend, and don’t forget to breathe.
It’s really hard sometimes trying to fit everything into a day. And some days just get to you. I hope another lizard found the lost bag of crickets.
I wish we lived close so Sean and I could help unbusy you…..I miss you. Has it been 5 years yet so you can join us in Seattle? :).
