Pink & Aqua: Palette Play

My kids and I flew from Colorado here to  Seattle to visit my sister, who is also  a fabric addict lover. We have been visiting fabric shops on our outings to see the city.

I am starting a new collection for my Tula Pink City Sampler quilt. I am planning on doing some blocks with a navy background and pink/salmon/coral pieces. Above are some bits I have picked up. (love that navy print from the PB&J collection)

Since my current fave is aqua, I also picked up some of those. I think they look fantastic with the pink as well as the navy, so I will incorporate that into my quilt, too. I like the little bits of gold/yellow in there too. What do you think?

I think it is fun to develop a palette and then collect fabrics over time for a project. It lends a fun scrappy look and not too matchy.
Not to mention the thrill of the hunt!

I am happy with the variety of scale in the fabrics so far, but it looks like I need some light prints.

We are heading to Pike Market tomorrow and shop there. I think there will be more pink and aqua in my future.

  1. Love this color palette. I prefer the look you get when you collect fabrics over time too. Can’t wait to see the quilt come together.

I love comments! thanks for stopping by.
