There is Beauty All Around…

Does anybody know that song?
sing it: “there is beauty all around, when there’s love at home…”
Okay, don’t worry, I am not getting sappy. I am just so excited about what is happening in my garden right now…

Peony: “Circus Circus”

I planted this peony last summer. this blossom just opened today. isn’t it divine?

I am liking this combination of penstemon (the airy tall plant) and the “Xenox” sedum around the base. The Penstemon will have lovely purply and white flowers on those stems in a few days…you can see the purple forming at the top. The sedums’ purply gray cast are a perfect compliment in both color and texture.

My favorite azaleas are past their peak, this photo was taken about a week ago. I love how some azaleas have those tiny spots inside the flower.

I hope you enjoyed the tour! I love looking at my flower garden every day. I guess it really is the simple things in life that are the best…okay, now I am getting sappy!
