My Crafty Crush

Have you ever been surfing crafty blogs or flick’r, or attended a class and been so amazed by someone’s talent or the beauty of something handmade that you just wanted to shout to the world?

I feel this way all the time and think, “I wish everyone could see how great this is!”. So I want to start doing that on this blog once in a while and invite you to do the same. After all, it is a bit embarrassing when you only talk about yourself all the time.

For the inaugural post of “My Crafty Crush”, it seems fitting that I honor fabulous projects by two people I love very much, my mom and my sister.

This is one block of a quilt my mom is almost finished with…just needs the binding hand sewn! She did the appliqué and made the top several years ago but only just had it long-arm quilted.

The whole quilt. (pattern by Piece ‘o Cake)

Second quilt I am loving right now: Em’s Wonky Houses. If you haven’t already seen this, go check it out then come back here. I’ll wait.

If you want to, leave a comment and tell me and the other readers what you are crushing on right now, be it a quilt, collection of fabric, other craft, whatever. Include a link to the site where you found it, or write a post on your blog if you have one and leave your link in your comment.

If you want to spread the love, display the “crafty crush” button!         –Sharon

Can’t decide which one I like better — they are both awesome (your mom’s and Em’s).

That is a gorgeous quilt your mom made, and the quilting is really cool! How nice to highlight someone else’s work you love.
