This is the time of the year when the title of my blog makes sense. I really am spending as much time as I can in my garden as well as sewing.
Of course, there are rainy days. And pretty fabric calling my name, so I do get some sewing in, too! This is such a busy time of year, and I am thinking about gifts for Teachers as the school year comes to an end, and Mother’s Day is coming, so I decided to try some hand-made gifts this year.
I made the zipper pouch from two leftover Layer Cake squares. I just love that flowery fabric, and the bright pink lining.
Then, I got brave and decided to try adding Handles! How cute is that? I am working on writing this up as a tutorial, so watch for that later this week. If you need a quick gift for someone this time of year, these are fun to make. They are also great for using up scraps of fabric and batting (I quilt mine for body rather than using interfacing).

Sewing things which we need is an interesting job…

Love your colorful dianthus around the spring tulips! My daffodils are just starting to bloom and the bed they’re in needs a lot of work…more work than I currently have energy, but hopefully it’ll get attended to soon enough. Cute bags! Especially like the pop of pink lining.
your tulip photo is amazing!
This time of year I have the same battle–the garden calls my name alll day long, but sometimes I’ve just got to sew! I tend to stick with garden during daylight and sewing during night, especially since my two little kiddos can’t be unsupervised just yet (2 and 4yrs). Lovely flowers–our tulips are just coming up! I love spring!
