I wanted to have my Marcelle Medallion top finished to post yesterday. Now it is today and it is still not finished.
I am still working on the cross blocks for the last border. I like how they are looking, but I just have this little peek to show for my efforts.
I am debating about adding another “last” border, maybe to make the dark a wider frame?? I am kind of ready to be done with this one because…..
I have my next medallion quilt waiting to be started!
This is called Midnight at the Oasis by Jen Kingwell, and the pattern can be found in the July/August 2013 issue of Quilt Mania magazine. It is incredible! I am excited about this because I have really loved making the Marcelle and this one has some fun different features, like appliqué. See that Churn Dash block border? those blocks are a whopping three inches! The whole quilt is 60″ square.
I am already daydreaming about what fabrics to use for this.
Look for this at your local newsstand:
It’s full of neat stuff.
Penny Poppleton is hosting a Marcelle Medallion quilt along. Check out her site for lots of good variations on the pattern.
