This is a quick little WIP from the past week that is now a finish! I volunteered to teach this as a class in May at the quilt shop, so I thought I better stitch one up to make sure I could do it! The block is pieced with templates. I know the center circle is not perfectly “circular” but it is…almost.
I pulled some fabrics out of my “happy” stash box and I think it lives up to that category pretty well.
It is Sashiko quilted and I did something different with the binding:
I sewed the binding on the back of the quilt with my regular sewing machine, then turned it around to the front and stitched it down so that it matches the quilting stitches! Voila, a quick, cute binding. What do you think?
Happy mid-week! The magnolia blossoms are getting plump and fuzzy. We might have spring yet!

funny mental image: last night I was snuggled with my younger son watching a movie on the laptop. It dawned on me part-way along that he was holding his sword and I was holding a new charm pack that came in the mail. At least you know we have our priorities.

Very cute mini quilt. I really like your idea with the binding. Finishes it off nicely.

That’s how I do binding! I love how fast it is, and it looks nice (most of the time)! Your mini turned out great, hope the class goes well!
