So, according to my lovely (kooky) sister, my pickle blocks look like bikini bottoms.
I think the name has stuck.
So, today I am making more bikini bottoms and here’s what I have so far:
I went with the unanimous opinion that the varied solid colors were good.
The thing is, I cannot decide how I like the intersection of the blocks the best, so I am taking an opinion poll.
Leave me a comment with your vote.
Option 1: squares in the corners, creating a four-patch where they meet
Option 2: triangles on the corners, creating an hourglass where they meet
Option 3: trim the colored pieces so that the grey arcs meet at their points (use your imagination as I just folded the fabrics to try this out
it is a tough decision, I cannot decide which I like best. I am really liking the combination of the solids and the bright kaffe prints, though. All those solid spaces…I am going to need a good long-arm quilter for this one!
I really have to go, Cleo is DEMANDING that it is time for her walk. She is a very good communicator.
happy weekend, hope you have some sewing time!

Whoa – that’s hard because it looks great all three ways. I like the squares best, I think.
I like the squares best. So cute! Love the colours.
Tough decision….but I like option 2 the best. Love those fabrics!
I like the first option best!
Tough choices. Love them all…sorry. 🙂 I like option 3 and then 2. But by a really small margin.
I would love to buy your pattern when it comes out. How do I go about making sure I don’t miss it and how is it possible to be put on your list for purchase? What a happy and dramatic quilt you made! It is stunning!!! Cate
Wonderfully complex! I would appreciate it if you would post the pattern and the amount of fabric for this quilt.
Thanks
